Microsoft Performance Point Server
Microsoft launched their latest and broadest entry into the Business Intelligence arena in September 2007, with their Performance Point Server. As the Business Intelligence market is currently focusing on business challenges such as linking strategy to execution, understanding performance and enterprise planning the PPS launch is very timely.
MOPPS comprises:
- Scorecards/Dashboards (Business Scorecard Manager 2005 functionality and ProClarity dashboard server functionality.)
- Analytics – Excel 2007 and ProClarity v.6 functionality
- Planning/budgeting/ financial reporting/ financial consolidation – a new server based application
- Uses a SQL Server 2005 relational database and multiple Analysis Services models to store data
- Optionally uses SharePoint Server 2007 for web based delivery.
Microsoft Office Performance Point Server will work with your existing Microsoft software including SQL Server 2005, Excel 2003 and both Windows SharePoint Services (WSS, shipped as part of Windows Server 2003) and Microsoft Office SharePoint Servicer (MOSS 2007).
